2024 Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference
From November 23rd to 24th, the 2024 Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference was held. With the theme of "Gathering Talents in New Chongqing · Creating a New Future Together," the conference focused on "meetings, competitions, and talent attraction," organising 13 main activities to create a high-end, international, professional, and social platform for talent exchange, intellectual collaboration, and project matchmaking. It provides strong talent support for the construction of a modern new Chongqing.
Chongqing is implementing its strategy of scientific and technological innovation and building a talent-strong city, accelerating the development of a western talent centre and innovation hub, and fostering the best talent development ecosystem. The holding of the 2024 Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference showcased Chongqing's commitment to serving the new era of western development and the talent-strong nation strategy. It highlighted the city’s innovation, creativity, and diverse application scenarios, as well as its genuine efforts to attract, respect, and nurture talent. During the conference, 3,925 in-demand and outstanding talents were signed and introduced; a total of 253 projects were signed, with a total investment of CNY 51 billion.

13 main activities, along with 13 supporting special activities, contribute to building a western talent centre and innovation hub.
216 important guests and experts from 49 countries and regions gathered in the mountain city to pool their wisdom and efforts towards the construction of modern new Chongqing.
219 doctoral and postdoctoral young scientific and technological talents were introduced to Chongqing through the conference, with key fields such as digital intelligence technology and life health accounting for 84%.
Gathering Strength with "Meetings"
For the first time, the New Era Western Development Talent High-Quality Development Chongqing Summit, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Talent Opening-up and Cooperation Exchange Conference, the Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Industry Talent Matchmaking Conference, and the Aerospace Information Industry Talent Development Conference were held.
Promoting Industry with "Competitions"
A series of innovation and entrepreneurship project results were transformed. The Global Outstanding Engineer Competition sought global submissions from companies and technical challenges, with 410 projects achieving transformation and helping companies solve 181 issues. The "Xingyu Cup" International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Competition attracted 688 projects from 24 countries (regions), with 67 projects reaching agreements to be implemented in Chongqing, resolving 82 key technical problems and providing talent-driven insight for promoting industrial innovation and development.
Attracting Talent with Talent
The activity to attract 100,000 university graduates and other young talents to Chongqing for employment and entrepreneurship, along with the "Thousand Doctors in Chongqing" event, introduced 12,000 young talents to Chongqing for employment and entrepreneurship. 650 doctors were organised to Chongqing for exchange and negotiations, with 77 reaching an intention to sign agreements with employers. During the western region joint talent attraction event, more than 200 companies and institutions offered 4,908 high-quality positions in fields such as scientific and technological innovation and modern manufacturing, resulting in 1,185 employment agreements on the spot. The Talent Innovation Achievement Transformation Application Negotiation Meeting collected a series of technological innovations in areas such as biomedicine and digital intelligence, selecting 56 high-quality technological achievements and teams for the first batch, which were introduced to seven talent innovation and entrepreneurship service centres for implementation. The assessment and recruitment of high-level talents for public institutions was organised, with 2,801 positions in public institutions released, attracting nearly 20,000 applicants, including 2,135 at doctoral level and 14,560 masters-level.
