Chongqing Ministry of Commerce Round-table Meeting for Foreign-funded Companies

To support the building of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, the MoC aims to listen to engage with the opinions of foreign-funded companies on investment in the Chengdu Chongqing region. Twenty six foreign-funded companies, including Ford Motor, Intel, Sumitomo Electric, Panasonic, Roche, Marriott, Lee & Man Paper, BASF, Metro AG, attended the meeting.

Assistant Minister of Commerce, Tang Wenhong said that China was accelerating the development of new quality productive forces, promoting high-quality development, and had multiple advantages such as broad market space, complete supply chain, and gathering of talent and technological elements, providing huge development opportunities for companies from various countries. The Chinese government is committed to creating a market-oriented, rule of law, and internationalized first-class business environment, providing high-quality service guarantees for the investment and operations of foreign-funded enterprises. China welcomes multinational companies to actively invest in China and the Chengdu Chongqing region, achieving mutually beneficial development.

The relevant leaders of the Ministry of Commerce and Chongqing attended the meeting, and officials from relevant departments of Chongqing and Sichuan, as well as relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Commerce, attended and exchanged ideas with companies.

 

387 newly established foreign-invested companies in Chongqing in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 44.4% 

Chongqing has introduced a total of 319 Fortune 500 companies
