Launched in 2010, Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Chongqing Xiyong Micro-electronics Industrial Park covers 7.58 sq. km and was the first comprehensive bonded zone in inland China and the largest comprehensive bonded zone nationwide. Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone, focuses on the development of new trade formats such as intelligent terminal industry, integrated circuit industry and cross-border e-commerce, bonded cultural trade, imported vehicle bonded warehousing, financing leasing, and bonded maintenance.
Over 100 companies are based in Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone, utilizing a total of 3.294 billion USD in foreign investment. These include 38 Fortune 500 companies, including HP, Quanta, Inventec, Foxconn, SK Hynix, and Bosch. And it became the world's largest laptop production base, assembling a quarter of all laptops worldwide. Cross border e-commerce has grown rapidly as has import and export volume, which was worth 13.06 billion CNY in 2023. Bonded warehousing for imported vehicles is used by multiple brands including Porsche, with a cumulative import of over 25,000 vehicles and a value of 13 billion CNY. Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone is a leader in carrying out bonded cultural trade amongst the third batch of free trade pilot zones, and completed a total of 7.9 billion CNY in customs declarations. In 2022, Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone achieved a foreign trade import and export value of 316.9 billion CNY, ranking fourth in the comprehensive bonded zones nationwide.
