Chongqing-Singapore Cooperation, Cooperation on Exporting

On February 28, the "Chongqing-Singapore Cooperation, Together to Overseas" Chongqing Enterprise Training Exchange was held at Chongqing Municipal Commerce Commission. Mr. Chua Zong Lun, Counsellor of the Industry Section of the Singapore Embassy in Beijing and Deputy Director of the Greater China Region of the Singapore Economic Development Board, relevant leaders and departments of Chongqing Municipal Commerce Commission (Chongqing Connectivity Initiative Bureau), Chongqing Big Data Application Development Administration Bureau, Chongqing Information Service Industry Association, and 27 company representatives in information and communication, a total of more than 40 people attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on the cooperation between Chongqing and Singapore software and information service companies to jointly explore the international market, which laid a new platform for the next step to promote the cooperation of digital economy in the China-Singapore Connectivity Initiative and to promote the development of Chongqing companies export.

Mr. Chua Zong Lun shared the innovation support policies and successful cases of promoting enterprise development of the EDB from the Singapore government perspective. Chongqing Municipal Commerce Commission and Chongqing Big Data Application Development Administration Bureau introduced the relevant policies of Chongqing's foreign economic cooperation and the service system of "Chongqing Companies to Overseas", as well as the cooperation in information and communication of the China-Singapore Connectivity Initiative. Jfi Holdings and Advance Intelligence Group from Singapore shared the opportunities and challenges faced by Chongqing companies entering the markets of Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries, as well as the support services they can provide.

The participating companies said that they had gained a lot from the meeting, not only policies and business knowledge, but also getting to know more industry partners.

Through this activity, they further enhanced their confidence in "going overseas" development, and would accelerate the pace of expanding overseas markets with the support of Chongqing Connectivity Initiative Bureau.

Chongqing Connectivity Initiative Bureau will continue to organize "one-on-one" negotiations and exchanges between companies from both sides, and through various exhibition platforms and series of business activities, introduce resources and create opportunities for companies to expand markets and go overseas. It will continue to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between Chongqing and Singapore companies, and jointly succeed in exploring the international market.

In 2024, the China-Singapore Connectivity Initiative will continue to implement the consensus of high-level cooperation between China and Singapore, explore and promote green and digital transformation, solidly promote the Initiative to go deeper and more practical, and form more visible results.

First, Chongqing will continue to expand and strengthen the New Western Land-sea Corridor, a flagship project of China-Singapore cooperation. Chongqing will also continue to make efforts in promoting the infrastructure, the rules and regulations, and the construction of digital and green corridor, so as to promote the rapid development of "corridor-driven logistics" and "logistics-driven economy and trade".

Second, Chongqing will accelerate the construction of hub port industrial parks and life science and technology cities, implement targeted investment promotion, and actively attract and cultivate high-quality projects.

Third, Chongqing will continue to promote the building of cross-border financing channels between China and Singapore, and strive to achieve cross-border financing of more than 1 billion USD.

Fourth, Chongqing will continue to optimize the Chongqing Singapore national standard aviation channel, and strive to stabilize the Chongqing Singapore passenger flights at the level of 14 flights per week in combination with the implementation of the 30-day visa exemption policy for ordinary passport holders between China and Singapore.

Fifth, Chongqing will promote the cooperation between companies of both sides in digital fields such as artificial intelligence and big data, and give full play to the guiding role of the China-Singapore Joint Innovation and Development Fund (JIDF).

Sixth, Chongqing will promote diverse and interactive cultural exchanges and cooperation, continue to deepen cooperation in science and technology education, medical and health care, cultural tourism and other fields, and constantly enhance the level of exchanges and mutual learning between the two countries and regions.
